Acer has announced family new TravelMate Timeline series, called Acer TravelMate Timeline 8473 and Acer TravelMate Timeline 8573. The TravelMate Timeline 8473 and TravelMate Timeline 8573 is based on Intel Sandy Bridge processors with magnesium-aluminum enclosure designed with a reinforced coil for maximum hold strength. Both of them offer no-compromise performance, superior security and trouble-free manageability.

Acer TravelMate Timeline 8473 and Acer TravelMate Timeline 8573 comes with security features, such as Acer BioProtection Fingerprint, Acer ProShield security to protect from unwanted access from BIOS level, includes built-in fingerprint reader, pre-boot authentication (PBA) with BIOS/HDD password, TPM password for data protection and File Shredder utility for permanently remove unwanted files or folders from the computer beyond recovery.
Both of new TravelMate Timeline series also pre loaded with Acer InstantView for fast boot up in only 8 seconds, Acer Backup Manager and Acer eRecovery Management provides recovery on-demand for complete peace of mind. Other features of the TravelMate Timeline 8473 and TravelMate Timeline 8573 are DASP (Disk Anti-Shock Protection) technology providing protections from the tear and wear of usage on the go by insulates the hard disk, Acer DustDefender technology to prevent the accumulation of dust inside the system and Acer FineTouch keyboard with extra key travel that designed to avoid mis-typing and the accumulation of the dust.

The main difference for both of them are Acer TravelMate Timeline 8473 laptop is packs with 14-inch display with a resolution of 1366 × 768 pixels and 16:9 aspect ratio and has weight at 2.3 kg while Acer TravelMate Timeline 8573 notebook is packs with 15.6 inch display with a resolution of 1366 × 768 pixels and 16:9 aspect ratio and has weight at 2.6 kg. Acer also announced if the machines also support for ProDock station that offer USB 3.0/2.0 ports, Display Port, DVI port, HDMI port, VGA port. Unfortunately there is no informations about price, but both of them is expected will be release in the next few weeks.
