HP Pavilion dv7-6135dx features the same brushed aluminum seen across the Pavilion line, like the Editors' Choice HP Pavilion dv7-6143cl ($999.99 list, 4 stars). Avoiding the bare metal look, the Pavilion is painted dark umber, a rich dark brown. The new look for the Pavilion line utilizes lots of subtle shaping, like the palm rest that is curved to make typing more comfortable, and the lid has a slight lip along the hinge, which makes it easier to carry securely.
