The L655-S5161RDX will have you focus on its colorful red glaze instead of its relatively husky, plastic frame. You can make out the subtle pattern underneath the shiny layer, a design technique called in-mold decoration. It's very similar to the technique used in the Dell Inspiron M501R-1655MRB ($650 list, 3.5 stars), which uses a brushed pattern underneath a gray tint.
