Mac OS X Lion: now Golden Master status

Mac OS X Lion: now Golden Master statusApple has been reported to have started seeding the Golden Master version of the operating system to its developers today. The Golden Master version of an app, in case you didn’t know, is pretty much the version of the app that will be shipped out to the general public, assuming no more bugs are found during this phase of testing. If you’re excited about getting your hands on the next version of the Mac OS X operating system, Lion, you’ll be glad to know that it’s not too far away.

If all goes well, Mac users will get to user OS X Lion on their computers soon enough. The speculated release date for OS X Lion has been said to be on July 14th – barely two weeks away from today. Mac users should get ready for the big day and prepare to receive the update. (It would be a good time to start backing up all your files now so you don’t have to do it on the day itself – you never know what could go wrong during the update).
